Let's face it the real reason why they run away is because the devs wanted to make the grinding even more of a pain with them.

I know this is super old but I went back to the game for new playthroughs and builds after awhile. And on both files they dropped a twisted heart for me.

I think fleeing is intended. It happens mostly after boss dies so I think their mental binds are loose at this point and after eternity of imprisonment and suffering they just want to get out. After all, inside those are only scared animals.

so, do these guys run away for anyone else? im grinding for enduring skulls in the ziggurat, and every so often, at random, they just turn around and start running. i havent seen anyone else have this issue, so i dunno whats up.
