Axe of Splendor in Salt and Sanctuary is a Axe type weapon.
A ceremonial axe cast from pure gold, carried by followers of a hedonistic cult as an everlasting symbol of quintessential splendor. Never actually intended for battle, it is in fact absurdly impractical as a weapon due to its crushing weight and malleable composition.
Notes and Tips:
- Easily the best one-handed axe in terms of speed, damage, and reach, offset mostly by its high price-tag and creed exclusivity.
- Killing bosses whilst under the effect of Goldenwine is easily the best way to earn the money needed to afford this pricey weapon.
- At 50 Strength and 50 Dexterity this weapon has an Attack of 115.0 at tier VII.
- Two-handing a weapon increases Strength by 50% for damage scaling, meaning you only need 34 Strength to reach the 50 Strength soft cap when two-handing a weapon.
- At 50 Strength, this weapon needs at least 24 Dexterity to have a higher Attack than the Red Guillotine, assuming both weapons have been upgraded to maximum level.

This isn't hard to obtain. I joined the House of Splendor while normally going through the game, got some Goldenwine right away and got to 200000 mostly by doubling boss gold. I've had the money to buy it after the Dried King, so that's like 6 bosses after I joined the creed, although I also got a good bit of that money while grinding those damn Heartseekers for devotion. Several bosses later I have more gold than I can spend because of Goldenwine, and I already got consumables maxed out.
Never actually intended for battle. No wonder people says it's not worth it. Read the description from the quote.

Probably the best 1h weapon for non-magic users. It costs alot but worth extra grind.
if you want to get this weapon on your strong characters without leaving your covenant, simply create another character and have him join the house of splendor, then co-op the weak character with your main summon the blacksmith then buy the axe with your main character

Weirdly a lot of people saying it's not worth it based on the description... clearly none of them have actually used it, that line about not being intended for battle is some kind of joke. This is by far the best axe in virtually every way.
