I would have to say, looking at all the heavy armor sets. This is the better one out of the late tier sets you can acquire.
Idano about any one else but i see a running theme that all 5th tier gear is... surprisingly... bad to there level 4 counter parts.
the exception being some weapons but... it seems far more beneficial to use the level 4 variants regardless of items.
      But i digress..

Simply put out of all the heavy armors, this is your best well rounded heavy armor. Not to mention it has the most balance of any heavy armor. Which... most people would say well "GIT GUD" (thanks combat tab) & simply don't get hit. But if you are going heavy armor the idea is for the armor to protect you from hits so you can be a tank-y bad-ass. And Well simply under that notion I would not look past this set being your prime choice when it comes to heavy armor.

I would also say keep the "Frayed Sugegasa" as early on trying to wield this set & be effective in combat can be taxing with out it.
