Scorpion Tail in Salt and Sanctuary is a Whip type weapon.
A most pernicious whip whose leather plaits have been interwoven with strips of Kadanian tarvine, imbuing its attacks with potent toxin. Clearly intended for purposes far more sinister than merely driving cattle, this deceptively simple weapon is most likely the brainchild of some enterprising assassin with limited resources for its fabrication.
Notes and Tips:

This is easily the least effective Poison weapon. BUT if you like to keep your distance from your foes, then it is the way to go. It has good reach, good speed and quick recovery. So if you're facing an enemy with even the slightest amount of poise/balance/stagger, you can just roll away immediately and keep on "kiting".
If this is your play-style, I recommend using the Pale Charm for additional reach. Otherwise, go for the Stone Charm or the Mossy Charm (try not to be spam-happy with the latter). Be warned though, this is might get boring fast.

It's terrible. Almost everything resists poison and it takes too long to stack poison damage. It would be better just to stick with class 1 whips.
Probably one of the better early poison wpn in the game. Gets outclassed fairly quickly but its probably one of the first you can have access too. Also that extra blunt makes it good paired with a gun. It's biggest flaw is to be in the Frozen upgrade path which you can't upgrade to max tier until later in the game. So if you really want to use it early on, I would suggest you upgrade the bullwhip as much as you can before transmuting it. But near end game, there are better poison wpns that outclass this one but the spammy nature of whips combined with it's extra blunt effect still makes its a decent poison loadout although not my favorite.
