Poleaxes are a type of Weapon in Salt and Sanctuary. They require the Pikeman Skill in order to use them.

Move Sets

1-handed

Light: Regular forward thrust.
Heavy: Overhead slash.
Heavy → Heavy: Overhead slash followed by an overhead slam.
Light → Heavy: Thrust into weak uppercut. Uses little stamina and does little damage. Can combo into air attacks.
Heavy → Light: Overhead slash into strong uppercut. Heavier damage and stamina use. Can combo into air attacks.
Light (Air): Regular forward thrust.
Heavy (Air): Strong slam attack.
Light → Light + UP: Thrust followed by quickly twirling the weapon above your head.
Light → Light → Light + DOWN: Two thrusts followed by a weak uppercut. Can combo into air attacks.
Light → Light → Heavy: Two thrusts followed by a lunging thrust.
Light → Light → Heavy → Heavy: Two thrusts followed by two lunging thrusts.

 

 2-handed

Light: Regular forward thrust.
Heavy: Regular forward slash.
Light → Heavy: Jab into uppercut. Can combo into air attacks.
Heavy → Light: Slash into strong uppercut. This uppercut does more damage and costs more stamina. Can combo into air attacks.
Light (Air): Regular forward thrust.
Heavy (Air): Strong slam attack.
Heavy → Light + UP: Slash then spins the weapon around your head.
Light → Light → Heavy: Two thrusts followed by a windmill spin attack while walking forward.
Light → Light → Heavy → Light: Thrust, thrust, windmill attack, thrust.
Light → Light → Heavy → Heavy: Two thrusts, windmill attack, followed by quickly twirling the weapon above your head.
Light → Light → Light + UP: Two thrusts followed by quickly twirling the weapon above your head.
Heavy → Heavy → Light: Two slashes followed by a strong overhead smash.

      whats funny is that the infantry pollaxe is actually a halberd, the guardsmen halberd is actually a pollaxe, the tainted ranseur is actually a spetum, and the trinity bardiche is another halberd

        Poleaxe heavy attack seems to not deal increased damage. You will often see actually doing little more damage with light attacks. Tested this with Naginata and Guardmen's halberd

          Triangle + Square UP + Square DOWN is the killer scythe combo poleaxe edition. (It's literally the same movements)

            Poleaxes are my least recommended Weapon-type to start with in the game, because none of them have a satisfying scaling/attack damage and their reach doesn't make up for their cons. On top of that the point in the game in which you get the "good" ones is completely *****ed, you have to play with the Infantry Pollaxe (if you even found it) up until the Red Hall of Cages and the ***** that you find afterwards is still garbage. Because of this weapon-type I stopped playing because I didn't want to start over, as I didn't focus on collecting Reapers or Spears.
