  • He lifts his hood, a queue for dark shadows to appear on the ground. These shadows spawn a blade after a couple seconds. Very similar to Court Sorcerer attack.

Player Notes

 Trivia

  • Carsejaw's overall theme appears to be heavily inspired by the Dark Souls boss: Gravelord Nito, in many ways.
-Both appear as large figures clad in heavy black robes with skeletal remains fixed onto their bodies.
-Both wield a large sword (which also bears a resemblance to the nail weapon in Hollow Knight.)
-Carsejaw's attack in which he raises his arms and spawns blades from the ground is very similar to the Dark Souls 1 spell "GravelordGreatsword Dance" in which the player will summon multiple swords from the ground around them, each one appearing identical to the swords of Gravelord Nito but with a red hue. Sadly, while Carsejaw has this attack, there is no spell that the player can acquire that has a similar function.

Teuthis Shield is (among many things) disgustingly good against him because his poise damage is pretty pitiful and because of the 100/100 strike/slash resistance.

Basically the Pinwheel of Salt And Sanctuary . Three-shot him with Goldwin and Pitchfire buff for Warhammer+6 and he goes down hard .

am i the only person here who had way more trouble with this guy and the impaled knights than the spindlebeasts?

I only died to that trio once, same for the impaled knights, but it took 7 attempts to kill carsejaw since I kept on ****ing up my roll timing for his teleport attack and had just switched creeds so I didn't have devara's buffing items even though I decided to start using incantations.

Seriously tho, the keepers of fire and sky chose the dumbest ****ing area to set up camp in-a dozen jumps in a row that can all kill you if screwed up, no easy way down from there, they only show up after the main enemies who are weak to spells, and their devotion rewards are pretty shitty against carsejaw.

          • This guy is pretty disappointing for its lore. He leads a country despite his tyrant attitude but people still choose him, then he proceed to hunt witch, conspirators, anything that he sees as enemies (READ: Political Opponents) and then execute them in public using his massive swords. Well there are a lot of stuffs about him in the skill tree. The fact that im interested in his story when im reading through the skill tree out of bored, this guy died with Jaws of Death with fire buff in 8 hits. Truly a let down.

People saying "yo is htis a hollow knight reference" meanwhile I looked at this boss and said "Oh **** it's literally just gravelord nito but easier, but he's also more active and almost a threat. Oh **** he literally has gravelord nito's attacks too-"

Because the sword looks like a triangle, it's a resemblance to Hollow Knight? wuuut?

Do you people even search when did SnS and Hollow Knight came out?

The better resemblance it should be making here is Megaman Zero's weapon.

"Which also bears a resemblance to the nail weapon in Hollow Knight" Well yeah, but Salt and Sanctuary came out a year BEFORE Hollow Knight, don't know why it's stated as trivia when it's a damn black triangle with a grey outline

Ah yes, Carsejaw the Tool. I wish the word 'tool' was in the jurney bottle selection so I could actually make that joke in game. "Tool ahead" and all that.

Holy slaughters him and if you have anything that hits hard then he can be dead in just a few swings. If you aren't going big weapons then just take a few swings when he does his slow combo and watch out for his blades from the ground. He's not too fast and the sanctuary is right next to him so he's not a major threat.

lol my Carsejaw glitched....I think I killed him with poison and it gave me his salt after death, and he still respawned

What with the sword, the shadowy cloak, and the skeleton looking armor he just seems to have a really strong resemblance.
