Blade of Envy in Salt and Sanctuary is a Greatsword type weapon.

An impossibly massive weapon barely recognizable as a sword. Carried by the Nameless God, this malevolent blade was forged in the flames of His envy and radiates an intense avarice which threatens to devour its wielder's very soul. Shackled to a mortal destiny by mortal desires, the Nameless God knew only seething rage and abject despair. In being freed from this cruel fate by mortal hands, perhaps He was finally able to know peace as well.

Notes and Tips:

  • At 50 Strength and 50 Dexterity this Weapon has an Attack of 197.3 at tier VII.
  • (Enhanced) At 30 Strength and 30 Dexterity this Weapon has an Attack of 190.8 at tier VII.
  • Two-handing a weapon increases Strength by 50% for damage scaling, meaning you only need 34 Strength to reach the 50 Strength soft cap when two-handing a weapon.
  • As it's a level 5 Greatsword, it is currently impossible to wield it one handed; watch for lighting the torch in dark places, as you will not be able to attack with the sword effectively then. Carry an alternative loadout for such situations or use the Ring of Brilliance and/or Lantern Charm when wielding two-handed. (Enhanced) The Nameless God's candelabra chest piece also grants torch light.

Love this weapon's visuals to bits but if we consider that this is one of the only 2 possible weapon transmutations from the Nameless God itself, it's very disappointing gameplay wise. We're better off using other R4 greatswords or Trinity one, sadly.

The damage is awesome but going from the extra-fast Scharfrichter to this...ouch; it's like you're fighting in slow-motion.

For some reason, this is the only great weapon with a slow-hitter property but no poise property (oversight from the devs perhaps ?). Still a really good weapon to use with the right stats (34 str and 50 dex). It can deal a surprising amount of burst damage (which completely compensates for the slow speed imo, especially when buffed) and actually provides you with that satisfaction of hitting with a giant hunk of iron as opposed to the Scharfrichter or the Trinity Greatsword (too spamable to my taste). Paired with the Mossy Charm, you get the standard greatsword speed. Nothing to sneeze at considering the damage per hit. Also, charged attacks never felt this good.

You cannot one-shot anything in NG+ and over, not even bats. So the slow-hitter makes this weapon a handicap and outclassed by any other greatswords (even the Kureimoa). It does have more range than average, but so does the seawolf cutlass which is lighter and has super high base damage (good for buffs). Might need some love from the devs, like more poise damage.Still my favorite greatsword though, when it comes to fashion salt :)

You morons not realize how weapon handling works? You crazily wasted stat points. Never ever go above 50 raw in a category. You can never and will never be able to hold this with one hand. Period. Rank5 is the max rank in this game and you need one rank higher than the sword class to be able to hold a shield as well. Stat points have nothing to do with wielding only damage.

From my experience, the slow hitter property only gives you the ability to charge up your attacks longer than fast hitters or normal weapons (at the cost of attack speed). You don't get any bonus damage (25% bonus regardless of speed) but it can be used strategically, wake-up attacks after a riposte for example.

only compareable weapon to this in terms of single hit dmg is trinity scepter. slow attackspeed makes it harder to play than other weapons but i was doing ng+7 easily on about lvl 190. dps wise trinity greatsword or scharfrichter are better. no real differences in between these two worth naming them, so its about which look u like better.

The one red line on any weapon means its a 2-H only weapon meaning if you only use 1-H its going to be very slow and/or won't do alot of damage like it is suppose to

That is obviously a reference to Guts's Dragon Slayer, especially the part where it's "barely recognizable as a sword"

There still a red line on my blade of envy and I don't know why? I have the req, 40str and 40sta, is there something else I need?

The attack speed and wind up is too slow. It made NG+ a struggle for me since I play no armor/no blocking. Kept getting combo'd and stunlocked.

I am not able to one hand this sword either. Seems the class 5's all have this. Hopefully there will be a future where we can do so (for the torch).
