A broad-edged iron axe with a wide head tapered into a curved beak for piercing armor. Forged by a professional blacksmith for military issue, this weapon is a mainstay in the arsenals of guardsmen and foot soldiers."
Notes and Tips:
- At 50 Strength and 50 Dexterity this weapon has an Attack of 92.0 at tier VII.
- Two-handing a weapon increases Strength by 50% for damage scaling, meaning you only need 34 Strength to reach the 50 Strength soft cap when two-handing a weapon.
Location/Where to Find
- Can be acquired by Transmuting any Axe with Drowned Berzerker's Ear, a Silver Leaf and 1,500 Salt
- Found in a pouch at the bottom right end of The Watching Woods

AnonymousI wish these pages would specify what kind of damage a weapon does. This is a bladed weapon so I want to assume slash damage, but a lot of games treat axes like strike damage and reserve slash damage only for swords and daggers.

Im using the battle axe on my first play through as a cleric it's been great so I've beaten many bosses with ease. I've just finished storm castle and going strong

Its a really good early game weapon especially since you can pick it up for free in the watching woods and getting access to class 1 axes in the skill tree is easy
Its air attacks are especially useful as a complement to a spear or poleaxe
Highly recommend this weapon
But its slow attack speed and short range does make it fall off a little later on
However i just beat the third lamb with an unupgraded battle axe
So its definitely viable until at least the midgame
